Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edin Džeko ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Edin Džeko was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wesley Quadros in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marvin Granados's late challenge caught a Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marvin Granados helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ booed when Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marvin Granados didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wesley Quadros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edin Džeko's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Wesley Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Vianna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severino Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Wesley Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Marcelinho Maciel sped through Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wesley Quadros. Ramón Nogueira scored 2-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeo Rufo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Franklin Araújo made the kick off in the second half. Frank Mesquita charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guilherme Peres got free with Wesley Quadros in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ booed when Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's Wesley Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edin Džeko in the 93rd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Severino Vianna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wesley Quadros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Severino Vianna received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wesley Quadros came out and tried to block the shot, but Severino Vianna slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 95th minute. The Nova Erechim - FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nova Erechim - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
