Gu Zhan Wei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Thomas in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of Academia Santista CIMZ booed when Santa Maradona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Nabar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 minutes of play, Santa Maradona's Rigoberto Thomas made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gu Zhan Wei was left in no man's land by his defense there! Santa Maradona's Herminio Birila was substituted for Samuel Refugio. After the first half Santa Maradona were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Rodolfo Cordeiro made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Cordeiro in the 56th minute of play forced Academia Santista CIMZ's goalkeeper Gu Zhan Wei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gu Zhan Wei made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Rodolfo Cordeiro sent off a good shot on target. Gu Zhan Wei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Cordeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Gu Zhan Wei made a huge save. Santa Maradona's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Haroldo Martxot in the 86th minute. Rodolfo Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gu Zhan Wei having to interfere. Felipe Nerio took the ball and in the 99 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Errapel. Jonathan Errapel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Santa Maradona's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
