Balázs Hujber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kerry Flöter in the 41st minute. 41 minutes into the game, Kerry Flöter recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Balázs Hujber. Kerry Flöter showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, U21 Hungary's Csaba Kossuth got a free kick in the 44th minute. Olger Azofeifa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viktor Bodrogi in the 46th minute of play. When Ramon Mena fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Costa Rica's protests and gave Ramon Mena a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Ramon Mena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viktor Bodrogi made a kick off. In the 77th minute, Viktor Bodrogi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. In the 86th minute, Adorján Havasi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Picado during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, U21 Costa Rica's Martin Picado got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
