The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Llantada got free with Juan Landry in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Llantada did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Juan Landry 17 minutes into the match. Robert Starnes's late challenge caught a Club Puerto Quito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robert Starnes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, HISPANO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Starnes to maneuver through the defense. Juan Landry was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Gustavo Cintron capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gustavo Cintron really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. When Cristian Llantada fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Puerto Quito's protests and gave Cristian Llantada a yellow card for diving instead. Cristian Llantada struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Juan Landry didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Puerto Quito.
