The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Mijdrecht Maffia booed when ASF BAIA MARE -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Bănățeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute, Mădălin Bănățeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cătălin Octavian received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rik Numan came out and tried to block the shot, but Cătălin Octavian slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. Rik Numan made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Cătălin Octavian sent off a good shot on target. 14 minutes into the match, Gertjan Theisens notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Nae Morar. Nae Morar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 20 minutes into the match, Cătălin Octavian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rik Numan. Mijdrecht Maffia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cătălin Octavian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Mijdrecht Maffia's Rik Numan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Mijdrecht Maffia from getting a goal against them. Nae Morar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gertjan Theisens in the 26th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mădălin Bănățeanu in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rik Numan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cătălin Octavian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ernst Klooster kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes ASF BAIA MARE -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Lucrețiu Arotăriței. Michael Kuijsten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Nae Morar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nae Morar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Kuijsten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michael Kuijsten was the one to do the kick off. Marcel Blanc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cătălin Octavian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Nae Morar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Blanc in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute Mădălin Bănățeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rik Numan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Nae Morar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save ASF BAIA MARE -MM- from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Rușanu during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alex Rușanu hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mădălin Bănățeanu in the 77th minute of play forced Mijdrecht Maffia's goalkeeper Rik Numan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
