Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liviu Găvănescu in the 59th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horia Savu in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgar Florescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Iordache Epure hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leontin Voinescu came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Florescu in the 75th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Florescu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Bünyamin Toygar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hồ Ho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th match minute, PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liviu Găvănescu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Florescu in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN's Leontin Voinescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 93rd minute of play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
