The supporters of Floresta Negra FC booed when Que se abra o mar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 42nd minute, Que se abra o mar's Claudinei Silveira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oséas Leme. Oséas Leme yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Ronaldo Serra made the kick off in the second half. Leandro Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Paulo Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Que se abra o mar defense, Mauro Proença kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leandro Cardozo. The Que se abra o mar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Cardozo should have stopped the shot. Leandro Cardozo made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Mauro Proença sent off a good shot on target. Mauro Proença in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Leandro Cardozo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Floresta Negra FC's Mauro Proença slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leandro Cardozo. That made the score 1-2 after 74 minutes of play. In the 78th minute, Luís Paulo Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Proença might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leandro Cardozo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Proença ran back to his position shaking his head. Leandro Cardozo made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Mauro Proença sent off a good shot on target. Leandro Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Proença in the 93rd minute of the match.
