After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Sven-Ove Stål managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garsås IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Ove Stål was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carl-Chester Vallgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by Valentin Holmstedt in the 4th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Garsås IF's Maicon Pereira. Önder Sezer charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Önder Sezer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. VBL Stockholm made a substitution. Jan-Åke Kihlberg replaced Olov Johnsson. 13 minutes into the game, one of Garsås IF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 17 minutes, Torbjörn Grönlund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VBL Stockholm and the Garsås IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Torbjörn Grönlund hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th match minute, VBL Stockholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Holmstedt to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Jan-Åke Kihlberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfons Sjö was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Garsås IF's Göran Lindholm quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Valentin Holmstedt, made in the 29th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Ove Stål in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carl-Chester Vallgren saved VBL Stockholm from getting behind. In the 37th minute of the match Garsås IF got a corner. VBL Stockholm's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Archie Brodie ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 39th minute, Jan-Åke Kihlberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Garsås IF booed when VBL Stockholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Holmstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan-Åke Kihlberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the game Valentin Holmstedt made a throw-in which Jan-Åke Kihlberg played forward. Alfons Sjö showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Åke Kihlberg in the 54th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Jan-Åke Kihlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfons Sjö saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 minutes Garsås IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfie Solomon who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Alfie Solomon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alfons Sjö quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alberto Ihintza hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Garsås IF made a substitution. Morgan Norberg replaced Enrico Cesaroni. After 73 played minutes VBL Stockholm got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Ihintza. Garsås IF's Alfons Sjö played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Åke Kihlberg in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, VBL Stockholm's Carl-Chester Vallgren got control of the ball when Sven-Ove Stål tried to sneak it across the goal line. A throw-in in the 85th minute of the game was made by Valentin Holmstedt with Jan-Åke Kihlberg as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Ove Stål got free with Carl-Chester Vallgren in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 91 played minutes Garsås IF got a freekick which was hit by Önder Sezer.
