In the 12th minute of the match, Sánchez Castruita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dušan Kinder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Azulgranas's Łukasz Fabiański played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hardo Kaar in the 15th minute of play. Łukasz Fabiański stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hardo Kaar's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hardo Kaar in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Łukasz Fabiański saved Azulgranas from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Zust in the 28th minute of play forced Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's goalkeeper Dušan Kinder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Hardo Kaar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hardo Kaar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sánchez Castruita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Łukasz Fabiański showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hardo Kaar in the 36th minute of the match. Dušan Kinder made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Sánchez Castruita sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the match, Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's Hardo Kaar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Łukasz Fabiański narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hardo Kaar took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Łukasz Fabiański. Łukasz Fabiański dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 46 minutes into the game, Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's Hardo Kaar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Łukasz Fabiański made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Elmo Lodev made the kick off in the second half. Łukasz Fabiański made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hardo Kaar in the 51st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Azulgranas's zone, Hardo Kaar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Łukasz Fabiański came out of the goal and Hardo Kaar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elmo Lodev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Łukasz Fabiański made a huge save. 58 minutes into the match, Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's goal looked a bit too open when Dani Fase came free, but Dušan Kinder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elmo Lodevs short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Łukasz Fabiański to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Hardo Kaar sped through Azulgranas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Łukasz Fabiański. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Victoriano Movilla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azulgranas's supporters rose to their feet, but Victoriano Movilla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dušan Kinder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Aidu Metskonna Pöörased eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
