After 4 played minutes F.C SBG DTR got a freekick which was hit by Mircea Găvănescu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteve Pueblo got free with Calistrat Ivașcu in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute there was a penalty for Estudiantes de La Plata. Mauro Evarado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Calistrat Ivașcu. 1-0. In the 12th minute, Gică Bourceanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the F.C SBG DTR defense, Rogelio Sotil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calistrat Ivașcu. The F.C SBG DTR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calistrat Ivașcu should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de La Plata's Esteve Pueblo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Calistrat Ivașcu came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de La Plata's Rogelio Sotil. But to his dismay, Rogelio Sotil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. F.C SBG DTR's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Marcos Bilintx 23 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. Cristinel Stoian hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Estudiantes de La Plata's Mauro Evarado got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Calistrat Ivașcu came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de La Plata's Rogelio Sotil. But to his dismay, Rogelio Sotil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. With a little luck, F.C SBG DTR's Calistrat Ivașcu got control of the ball when Tadeusz Rasialdo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rogelio Sotil scored 6-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Calistrat Ivașcu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute of the match, Rogelio Sotil got a very nice opportunity to score, but Calistrat Ivașcu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After some careless play in the F.C SBG DTR defense, Placido Estefan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calistrat Ivașcu. The F.C SBG DTR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calistrat Ivașcu should have stopped the shot. After 78 minutes F.C SBG DTR's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mauro Evarado who took care of the corner kick. In the 79th minute, Albino Viviano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Calistrat Ivașcu was frozen by the shot and now it was 13-1. 86 minutes into the match, Albino Viviano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Calistrat Ivașcu. F.C SBG DTR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albino Viviano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 14-1. F.C SBG DTR's Calistrat Ivașcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Sotil in the 91st minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, F.C SBG DTR's goal looked a bit too open when Albino Viviano came free, but Calistrat Ivașcu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
