Reynaldo Balladares came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Tolima Real's Humberto Ordas. But to his dismay, Humberto Ordas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, Rapa Nui's Yeray Villalta got a free kick in the 5th minute. After a rather tough play, Tolima Real's Xever Olloque got a free kick in the 8th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damario Abufhele during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rapa Nui getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Damario Abufhele hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, José Javier Ordaz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tolima Real's Unai Marine. Unai Marine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Unai Marine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saúl Anabalon in the 18th minute of play. Rapa Nui were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Tolima Real's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alfredo Celedón took the corner. Alfredo Celedón made a great header on Rapa Nui's corner, it was just that Tolima Real's Unai Marine managed to reach the ball for a save. After 21 minutes, Veremundo Peguero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tolima Real and the Rapa Nui players grew even worse after the yellow card. Veremundo Peguero hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Xever Olloque kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Rapa Nui's Reynaldo Balladares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Rapa Nui from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Tolima Real's zone, Mario Valverde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Unai Marine came out of the goal and Mario Valverde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Javier Ordaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saúl Anabalon struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Unai Marine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapa Nui. In the 42nd minute, Saúl Anabalon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rapa Nui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mario Valverde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Unai Marine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adan Ayuso hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Tolima Real's Unai Marine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Valverde in the 61st minute of play. Unai Marine was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Mario Valverde capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mario Valverde really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Unai Marine didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mario Valverde went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. A collision led to Tolima Real getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Adan Ayuso hit a great ball. Reynaldo Balladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Ordas in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute of the match, José Javier Ordaz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Unai Marine saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Yeray Villalta took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Unai Marine to make any attempt to save it. When the match was over Rapa Nui could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tolima Real throughout the match.
