If Jose Abarca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46th minute José Javier Ordaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Dolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidio Dolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Valverde in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saúl Anabalon to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Jose Abarca managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Saúl Anabalon sped through Olimpo B.B.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ovidio Dolfo. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Saúl Anabalon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rapa Nui's supporters rose to their feet, but Saúl Anabalon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ovidio Dolfo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If José Javier Ordaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
