Tupirama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adan Ayuso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Unai Marine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Fernandez in the 20th minute of play. Unai Marine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Tolima Real getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Jesus Tarulla hit a great ball. Unai Marine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Arósio in the 24th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Clóvis Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Unai Marine was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Humberto Ordas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilmar Rosa had in the 38thth minute some difficulties stopping Bazkoare Santome's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Unai Marine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Unai Marine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Jesus Tarulla kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The long shot by Arnaldo Santana in the 44th minute really tested Unai Marine's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Gilmar Rosa came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Tolima Real's Xever Olloque. But to his dismay, Xever Olloque quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Tupirama players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tolima Real were winning 1-2.

Veremundo Peguero kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Humberto Ordas fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 64 minutes into the match, Xever Olloque notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Tupirama's Gilmar Rosa. Gilmar Rosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Xever Olloque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Rosa having to interfere. Gilmar Rosa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 71st minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. Unai Marine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Tolima Real's Xever Olloque got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luís Fernandez in the 85th minute of play forced Tolima Real's goalkeeper Unai Marine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jesus Tarulla during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tupirama's Gilmar Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Ordas in the 90th minute of play. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tolima Real would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
