Alfredo Celedón's late challenge caught a Avencas AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Celedón helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Rapa Nui got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Celedón. In the 30th minute Benjamin Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Balladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario Valverde during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reynaldo Balladares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato de Sousa in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Benjamin Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Renato de Sousa to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Zeca Barral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avencas AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapa Nui the free kick. A collision led to Avencas AD getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Zeca Barral hit a great ball. When José Javier Ordaz fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rapa Nui's protests and gave José Javier Ordaz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th match minute, Rapa Nui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Javier Ordaz to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 58 minutes into the game, when Renato de Sousa put in a rough tackle. In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Rapa Nui. Alfredo Celedón stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Leopoldo Oliveira. 5-0. In the 91st minute, Edilberto Landea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Saúl Anabalon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th match minute, Avencas AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Rapa Nui had played much better football throughout.
