Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 10th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iwan Wojtyna was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cacá Bragas short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play forced RED-STAR's goalkeeper Iwan Wojtyna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iwan Wojtyna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that RED-STAR's Iwan Wojtyna managed to reach the ball for a save. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cacá Braga was the one to do the kick off. In the 51stth minute of the game Cacá Braga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iwan Wojtyna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 52nd minute of the match. Cipriano do Vale scored 1-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 91 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. When Cacá Braga came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the RED-STAR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cacá Braga couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 94th minute. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by RED-STAR's Cacá Braga. But to his dismay, Cacá Braga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. RED-STAR were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
