In the 21st minute of the match, Álvaro Zambujal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Manuel Lameirinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexandre Matamala. Alexandre Matamala made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 28thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Pedro Manzanares would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Curicó-Unido's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Román Hoefler in the 29th minute. Manuel Lameirinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Osasun Leys had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osasun Leys was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Carballar in the 36th minute of play forced Curicó-Unido's goalkeeper Manuel Lameirinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Lameirinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Carballar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kevin Mastache kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

With an all-out effort, Colombia's Manuel Lameirinhas threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abram Sarmiento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Alexandre Matamala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Román Hoefler who took care of the corner kick. Curicó-Unido's Román Hoefler was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pedro Manzanares in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marcel Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Abram Sarmiento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kevin Mastache kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osasun Leys in the 68th minute of the match.
