When Waldemar de Sena fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored October 04's protests and gave Waldemar de Sena a yellow card for diving instead. Percy Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Paulo Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percy Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Paes in the 8th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as October 04's Pedro Paulo Paes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Percy Reis. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. Wilian Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Percy Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilian Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Botafogo AP's Percy Reis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Botafogo AP from getting a goal against them. Percy Reis made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Pedro Paulo Paes sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Paulo Paes struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Percy Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for October 04. With his leg Percy Reis managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when October 04's Pedro Paulo Paes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as October 04's Pedro Paulo Paes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Percy Reis. That made the score 2-0 after 46 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Paulo Paes made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Paulo Paes in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Percy Reis saved Botafogo AP from getting behind. Botafogo AP's attack was well implemented in the 58th minute, but when Clemente Lopes was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. 60 minutes into the game, André Luís Trigo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Narciso Guimarães. André Luís Trigo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. José Pedro Coelho's late challenge caught a October 04's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Pedro Coelho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, one of Botafogo AP:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Botafogo AP. João Gonçalves's late challenge caught a Botafogo AP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Gonçalves helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute of the match, Clemente Lopes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Narciso Guimarães saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Percy Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Paes in the 69th minute of play. Horácio Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 73 minutes, Pedro Paulo Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. October 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Paulo Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo Paes came free, but Percy Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pedro Paulo Paes came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the October 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Paulo Paes couldn't finish the play. Botafogo AP's Dagoberto Paulista was substituted for Agnaldo de Godoi. In the 84th minute, Frank Goiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute of the match Durvalino Albuquerque sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Percy Reis skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Botafogo AP's zone, Wilian Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percy Reis came out of the goal and Wilian Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Percy Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Paes in the 89th minute of play. After 91 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Schmidt. If André Luís Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Horácio Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. October 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Horácio Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the match, Eriberto Esteves sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Narciso Guimarães threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Eriberto Esteves this time. Frank Goiano hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. Durvalino Albuquerque struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Percy Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for October 04. October 04 were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Botafogo AP for a fine match.
