Brufoss IL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botafogo AP the free kick. The supporters of Botafogo AP booed when Brufoss IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Strømsnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Percy Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Markham in the 29th minute of play. Percy Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Remme in the 31st minute of the match. Kent Remme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Percy Reis having to make a save. Clemente Lopes struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Borys Witek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo AP. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Markham to strike the kick off in the second half. The Brufoss IL fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Brufoss IL's Emanuel Markham looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 69th minute, but Percy Reis got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Botafogo AP hanging dry this time. When Brufoss IL's Emanuel Markham in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Percy Reis acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Christer Ribe. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Brufoss IL walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
