In the 9th minute, Sidnei Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Damasceno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Mauro de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Elias Damasceno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Vidal in the 24th minute of play forced 卡納里尼奧 FC's goalkeeper João Vítor Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mauro de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Damasceno in the 26th minute of play. Eliseu Alagoano scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauro de Salles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 33 minutes, Deivid Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Iguaçu MZFC and the 卡納里尼奧 FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Deivid Queirós hit a great ball. Cléberson Santana was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in 卡納里尼奧 FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! Wilson Vidal took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Vítor Guimarães. João Vítor Guimarães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 46 minutes into the match, 卡納里尼奧 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Vidal came free, but João Vítor Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jailson de Carvalho was the one to do the kick off. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mauro de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Alagoano in the 54th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Wilson Vidal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. João Vítor Guimarães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Cesinha Cruz was substituted for Vladimir Braga. Amílton Marinho hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 卡納里尼奧 FC made a substitution. Jefferson Maia replaced Agostinho Guedes. In the 63rd match minute, 卡納里尼奧 FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amílton Marinho to maneuver through the defense. Sidnei Dionísio took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mauro de Salles. Mauro de Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Paulo Renato Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Vítor Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Wilson Vidal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Vítor Guimarães. 卡納里尼奧 FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilson Vidal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. In the 91st minute Jefferson Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jefferson Maia hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Nova Iguaçu MZFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
