Wilson Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gustavo Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson de Carvalho in the 5th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Wilson Vidal notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SinháCity FC's Gustavo Barral. Gustavo Barral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the SinháCity FC defense, Jailson de Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustavo Barral. The SinháCity FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustavo Barral should have stopped the shot. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Wilson Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Márcio de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Paulo Renato Souza notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of SinháCity FC's Gustavo Barral. Gustavo Barral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Anselmo Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gustavo Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Anselmo Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the game, Paulo Renato Souza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Gustavo Barral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gustavo Barral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jailson de Carvalho went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. After the first half Nova Iguaçu MZFC were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jailson de Carvalho made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in SinháCity FC's zone, Wilson Vidal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Barral came out of the goal and Wilson Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Barral didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Jailson de Carvalho shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-7 in the ordered_time% minute. Nova Iguaçu MZFC made a substitution. Dalmo Rocha replaced Telmo Barbosa. Gustavo Barral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauro de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márcio de Sousa in the 63rd minute of the match. After 66 minutes of play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Jailson de Carvalho made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Barral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dalmo Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Barral having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jailson de Carvalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Barral was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dudu Queiroz in the 73rd minute. Gustavo Barral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Renato Souza in the 77th minute. Paulo Renato Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Gustavo Barral made a huge save. Gustavo Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Gustavo Barral was a little too slow when Jailson de Carvalho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-9. Adelino Vale's late challenge caught a Nova Iguaçu MZFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adelino Vale helped the player get up and apologised. Gustavo Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson de Carvalho in the 94th minute of play. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
