Óscar Cordoba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lino Rios went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After 20 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Kauan de Barros. 24 minutes into the match, AFC FUSION's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Maradona came free, but Roberto Eztebe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lino Rios got free with Óscar Cordoba in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute, AFC FUSION's Lino Rios dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. If Dawid Beckham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Lino Rios dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Óscar Cordoba, 3-0. 41 minutes into the game, Kauan de Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting de Gijón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC FUSION the free kick. Lino Rios received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Óscar Cordoba came out and tried to block the shot, but Lino Rios slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Sporting de Gijón's Carlo Crema was substituted for Venancio Emesto. AFC FUSION's Roberto Eztebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Bilintx in the 52nd minute of play. Lino Rios blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Óscar Cordoba having to make a save. 55 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Rios came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Rios in the 59th minute of the match. In the 62ndth minute of the game Lino Rios who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Rios, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute AFC FUSION were awarded a corner. Dawid Beckham went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Jan Hop almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba did a great save. The supporters of AFC FUSION booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Rufo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Alejandro Rufo got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Óscar Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoff Stocks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christoff Stocks in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Óscar Cordoba saved Sporting de Gijón from getting behind. Christoff Stocks scored 5-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Óscar Cordoba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Carolo Ovando hit a great ball. In the 97th minute Wayne Rooney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Eztebe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
