The 20 DE SETEMBRO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hélder de Queiroz should have stopped the shot. Gustaw Skikiewicz charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustaw Skikiewicz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alessandro Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Clóvis Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 minutes, Mário Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 20 DE SETEMBRO and the Cielii FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute of the match, Jerzy Ranowiecki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hélder de Queiroz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Olaf Bugno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Teles in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Cielii FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Neves came free, but Olaf Bugno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cielii FC's Arkadiusz Smolarek got a free kick in the 27th minute. Hélder de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zenon Majerowicz in the 29th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Rydzyk during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of 20 DE SETEMBRO booed when Cielii FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Rydzyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alessandro Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olaf Bugno having to make a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zenon Majerowicz to strike the kick off in the second half. Claudinei de Andrade made in the 51st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Alessandro Neves. With his leg Olaf Bugno managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when 20 DE SETEMBRO's Válter Neto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 58 minutes into the match, 20 DE SETEMBRO's goal looked a bit too open when Zenon Majerowicz came free, but Hélder de Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Walmyr Borges fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 20 DE SETEMBRO's protests and gave Walmyr Borges a yellow card for diving instead. Alessandro Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute of the match Arkadiusz Smolarek sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélder de Queiroz skillfully saved the ball. Marco Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Cielii FC's goalkeeper Olaf Bugno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Válter Neto. After a rather tough play, 20 DE SETEMBRO's Válter Neto got a free kick in the 67th minute. 20 DE SETEMBRO's Clóvis Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Rydzyk got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Hélder de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zenon Majerowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 played minutes 20 DE SETEMBRO got a freekick which was hit by Yuri Vieira. After 80 minutes of play, 20 DE SETEMBRO's Válter Neto made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olaf Bugno was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute of the match, Válter Neto got a very nice opportunity to score, but Olaf Bugno was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cielii FC's Olaf Bugno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Teles in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Neves in the 91st minute of play forced Cielii FC's goalkeeper Olaf Bugno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Clóvis Corrêa came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the 20 DE SETEMBRO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clóvis Corrêa couldn't finish the play. After 94 played minutes Cielii FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Fetor. Olaf Bugno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cielii FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while 20 DE SETEMBRO had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
