Hannover Reds's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dimitar Berbatov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 35 minutes, Dimitar Berbatov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montesacro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dimitar Berbatov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernd Yuschni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitar Berbatov, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Dimitar Berbatov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Hannover Reds getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Markus Thalberg hit a great ball. Loco Palermo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Bernd Yuschni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Montesacro FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Montesacro FC's Juliusz Julien was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bernd Yuschni in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Bernd Yuschni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paolo Rossi in the 70th minute. Montesacro FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
