Bernd Yuschni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ken Brogren in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Mac Mon came free, but Bernd Yuschni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luc Van Hinnendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Argina in the 26th minute of the match. Lars Voss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luc Van Hinnendael having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Hannover Reds's Luc Van Hinnendael threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lars Voss, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 32nd minute Mac Mon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd Yuschni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
