Kiev FC's Geronimo Rubio quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Iturri in the 5th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Octavian Soare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Anselmo Iturri came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Kiev FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Iturri couldn't finish the play. Octavian Soare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Iturri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Onurhan Çinuçin kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Iturri came free, but Octavian Soare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kiev FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antonio Mutafchiev in the 14th minute. Octavian Soare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Iturri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 minutes of play, Kiev FC's Anselmo Iturri made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Octavian Soare was left in no man's land by his defense there! Octavian Soare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Iturri in the 21st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Galati Harbour Cats's Shi Li slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cirilo Frederico. That made the score 1-1 after 23 minutes of play. Sven-Åke Ré charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sven-Åke Ré the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute, Sven-Åke Ré hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Kiev FC's Benny Stahlschmidt in action when he in the 29th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Octavian Soare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Iturri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cirilo Frederico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Onurhan Çinuçin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Antonio Mutafchiev came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Kiev FC fans jumped to their feet. Anselmo Iturri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Octavian Soare read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Iturri in the 47th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Octavian Soare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Shi Li to make the kick off. A collision led to Kiev FC getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Jeronimo Frutos hit a great ball. Anselmo Iturri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Octavian Soare made a huge save. Octavian Soare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Iturri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Anselmo Iturri notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Galati Harbour Cats's Octavian Soare. Octavian Soare was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Anselmo Iturri got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 72 minutes into the game, Shi Li cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Cirilo Frederico was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Kiev FC's Geronimo Rubio got a free kick in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shi Li in the 77th minute of play forced Kiev FC's goalkeeper Cirilo Frederico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Kiev FC's goal looked a bit too open when Shi Li came free, but Cirilo Frederico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kiev FC's Erubiel Ramond was substituted for Anselmo Iturri. Sven-Åke Ré was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The score was 2-5 after a penalty in the 92nd minute, where Kiev FC:s Benny Stahlschmidt tricked Galati Harbour Cats:s Octavian Soare with a difficult ball by the left post. In the 97th minute of the match Kiev FC got a corner. Galati Harbour Cats's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antonio Mutafchiev ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Kiev FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kiev FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
