After taking down the ball on 17 de enero team's corner Victoriano Iratzeder fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Octavian Soare quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Iratzeder in the 6th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Octavian Soare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Galati Harbour Cats's Valeriu Zdrobiş got a free kick in the 8th minute. Ianis Man's late challenge caught a 17 de enero team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ianis Man helped the player get up and apologised. Ianis Man kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victoriano Iratzeder in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octavian Soare prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 11th minute, Isidoro Isidor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 14 minutes, Victoriano Iratzeder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 17 de enero team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victoriano Iratzeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Octavian Soare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victoriano Iratzeder in the 15th minute of the match. When Galati Harbour Cats's Shi Li in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye 17 de enero team's goalie prevented a goal. Ianis Man sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zoran Simović made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shi Li in the 21st minute. Galati Harbour Cats were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after 17 de enero team's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felipe Frans hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Dan Petrescu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and 17 de enero team's Zoran Simović didn't even have to move. A collision led to 17 de enero team getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Basarab Ipate hit a great ball. If Shi Li had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Victoriano Iratzeder made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shi Li in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zoran Simović saved 17 de enero team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shi Li in the 53rd minute of play forced 17 de enero team's goalkeeper Zoran Simović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Isidoro Isidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zoran Simović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ianis Man, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the game, Galati Harbour Cats's Shi Li nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zoran Simović made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Zoran Simović stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shi Li's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute Shi Li shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zoran Simović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Galati Harbour Cats's Petruț Iliuță was substituted for Valeriu Zdrobiş. 17 de enero team's Zoran Simović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shi Li in the 78th minute of play. Zoran Simović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shi Li in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ianis Man in the 87th minute of play forced 17 de enero team's goalkeeper Zoran Simović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Octavian Soare was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Victoriano Iratzeder showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 89 minute of play. Felipe Frans kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in 17 de enero team's zone, Shi Li stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zoran Simović came out of the goal and Shi Li tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
