Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yu Xun Yi in the 53rd minute of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Yu Xun Yi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Boukjan Schenning hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yu Xun Yi in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Yu Xun Yi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. If Yu Xun Yi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erez Cachurro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yu Xun Yi in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Yu Xun Yi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 91st minute of the game.
