The supporters of Manly FC booed when 沛水龙城 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. 白崇兴 didn't get a good kick on the ball. 曹雄升 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Fowler in the 9th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mourad Rocchi during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26thth minute of the game 何政军 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manly FC's Sydney Ross was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sydney Ross made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 洪强宽 in the 27th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, 陆响挺 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 沛水龙城's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manly FC the free kick. Sydney Ross made an important save on a dangerous shot by 洪强宽 in the 42nd minute. In the 92nd minute 何政军 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Ross saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sydney Ross took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 洪强宽, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both players had fought hard during the second half to keep the score at 1-1. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.

All the players looked a little tired when it was time for the first half of the overtime. It was Manly FC's Matthias Hanslow that got to make the kick off. Manly FC's Sydney Ross proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 100th minute of the match, managed to save Manly FC from getting a goal against them. After 101 played minutes Manly FC got a freekick which was hit by Jasmine Kaine. In the 102nd minute, one of Manly FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Manly FC.
