The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lajos Révész showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Şimonca in the 20th minute of the match. When Constancio Llinares fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Fuerteventura's protests and gave Constancio Llinares a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Constancio Llinares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrian Blănaru made in the 29th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Olimpiu Dichiseanu however managed to control. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Geovani Barral sped through Academia Rio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gigel Tilea. With his leg Gigel Tilea managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when UD Fuerteventura's Claris Quiroga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Academia Rio from getting a goal against them. After 37th play minutes Geovani Barral shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Gigel Tilea and just under the crossbar into goal. 44 minutes into the match, UD Fuerteventura's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Coșeriu came free, but Lajos Révész reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 70 minutes of play, UD Fuerteventura's Claris Quiroga made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gigel Tilea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gigel Tilea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0.

The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The UD Fuerteventura fans cheered their team off the field, for while Academia Rio had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
