With a left leg Mário Súľovský saved Estudiantes de La Plata from getting behind. In the 8th minute, Kaj Skager made a precise shot to the right of Mário Súľovský. Estudiantes de La Plata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 11th minute Kaj Skager shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Súľovský saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Inautzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Mário Súľovský tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Inautzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Súľovský having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Kaj Skager cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mário Súľovský was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Albino Viviano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Mário Súľovský, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Orlando Inautzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A sloppy throw-in by Seber Piñera in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Atletico Los Andes's Casper Martinsson. Kaj Skager's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mário Súľovský read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play.
