An unexpectedly hard shot by Luka De Roeck in the 14th minute of play forced Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Mário Súľovský to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luka De Roeck in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mário Súľovský prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mário Súľovský showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Aguirre in the 44th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Luka De Roeck sped through Estudiantes de La Plata's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mário Súľovský.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luka De Roeck to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Gilberto Orlondo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Los Irrompibles's Santiago Calvet got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mário Súľovský stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luka De Roeck's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. If Filomeno Marko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 minutes, Luka De Roeck made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Estudiantes de La Plata's Mário Súľovský tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albino Viviano in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Justo Baladi saved Los Irrompibles from getting behind. Aires Arzumendi hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Estudiantes de La Plata's Marcos Bilintx was substituted for Albino Viviano. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Luka De Roeck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Irrompibles's supporters rose to their feet, but Luka De Roeck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Súľovský breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filomeno Marko scored 2-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Justo Baladi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th minute, Los Irrompibles's Luka De Roeck ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mário Súľovský. Mário Súľovský yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Justo Baladi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Bilintx in the 93rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Marcos Bilintx put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Justo Baladi. Aires Arzumendi lost his temper 96 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Los Irrompibles:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Estudiantes de La Plata:s goal. The referee gave Estudiantes de La Plata a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Florencio Ponc, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Irrompibles's Justo Baladi. 4-3. Estudiantes de La Plata walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
