But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristo Gregory couldn't finish the play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fritz Ernst Joinvilense made a kick off. José Pedro Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zakariás Lányi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Irrompibles's goalkeeper Fabricio Lawrence, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Botafogo AP's Fritz Ernst Joinvilense got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Pedro Bertassi prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
