An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Cascajares in the 3rd minute of play forced Ruquense FC's goalkeeper François-Xavier Dionnet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvano Bide recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eskil Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basilio Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basilio Fernandez got free with Eskil Vester in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Ruquense FC defense, Emilio Cascajares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of François-Xavier Dionnet. The Ruquense FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that François-Xavier Dionnet should have stopped the shot. François-Xavier Dionnet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilio Cascajares's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adolfo Joseph during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Ruquense FC got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Joseph. After a defensive mix-up in Ruquense FC's zone, Emilio Cascajares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. François-Xavier Dionnet came out of the goal and Emilio Cascajares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basilio Fernandez to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Ruquense FC booed when October 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute Basilio Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. October 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Cascajares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
