Lauro Linhares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agostinho Guedes in the 25th minute. In the 33rd minute Laerte Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute of the match Régis Vides sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lauro Linhares skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Marquez in the 42nd minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Lauro Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lauro Linhares was a little too slow when Laerte Marquez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 1-0.

The wind increased when Laerte Marquez made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Agostinho Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lauro Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Laerte Marquez sped through CE LAJEADENSE RS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lauro Linhares. Glauco Paranaense might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Marinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glauco Paranaense ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Marinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Glauco Paranaense in the 89th minute. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Lauro Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Guedes in the 94th minute of play.
