The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, AF CERRADO's Wellington Schmidt got a free kick in the 4th minute. Severino Alcântara acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Oséas Miranda. After some careless play in the CE LAJEADENSE RS defense, Arí Motta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lauro Linhares. The CE LAJEADENSE RS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lauro Linhares should have stopped the shot. 9 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Melo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AF CERRADO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CE LAJEADENSE RS the free kick. Ezequiel Melo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Glauco Paranaense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CE LAJEADENSE RS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 14thth minute of the game Eliézer Ramos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AF CERRADO's Severino Alcântara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lauro Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A hard shot by Marcinho das Neves from long distance, 21 minutes into the match, got Severino Alcântara's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 21st match minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Gustavo Teles to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ezequiel Melo in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lauro Linhares saved CE LAJEADENSE RS from getting behind. Glauco Paranaense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Severino Alcântara made a huge save. Lauro Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Motta in the 38th minute of the match. Cléber de Souza hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 42nd match minute, AF CERRADO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. Oséas Miranda might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severino Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oséas Miranda ran back to his position shaking his head. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Glauco Paranaense to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, AF CERRADO's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer Ramos came free, but Severino Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arí Motta's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Lauro Linhares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A nice corner shot did that Nestor Cordeiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lauro Linhares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 62 minutes into the match, Glauco Paranaense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Severino Alcântara. AF CERRADO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glauco Paranaense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. AF CERRADO's Severino Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber de Souza in the 64th minute of play. After 73 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Ramos. Severino Alcântara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Glauco Paranaense went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After 80 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Cléber de Souza. If Natanael Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute Ezequiel Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Marcinho das Neves got a free kick in the 95th minute. The CE LAJEADENSE RS support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
