Józef Mlynarczyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervásio Severiano in the 3rd minute of play. Luís Caeiro scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Józef Mlynarczyk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 10th minute Gervásio Severiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Józef Mlynarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio-Paul Caniggia in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armindo Salgado saved VB-Team from getting behind. When Enzo Pellecchia fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VB-Team's protests and gave Enzo Pellecchia a yellow card for diving instead. Józef Mlynarczyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enzo Pellecchia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Caeiro in the 21st minute of play forced Deportivo Pucho's goalkeeper Józef Mlynarczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio-Paul Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Arnulfo Marko kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Józef Mlynarczyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim de Barros in the 24th minute of play. Deportivo Pucho's Claudio-Paul Caniggia got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, VB-Team's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio-Paul Caniggia came free, but Armindo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armindo Salgado came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Pucho's Julio Tolino. But to his dismay, Julio Tolino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Wilfredo Thomas hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio-Paul Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute of the match Deportivo Pucho got a corner. VB-Team's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Archie Litchfield ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deportivo Pucho's Archie Litchfield was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Armindo Salgado in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to VB-Team getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Luís Caeiro hit a great ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Deportivo Pucho's Ahmet Nasir Nesefi was substituted for Claudio-Paul Caniggia. Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Östen Stor in the 55th minute of play. Deportivo Pucho's Julio Tolino got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Östen Stor in the 59th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Timoteo Eneko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Deportivo Pucho getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. In the 71st match minute, VB-Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Caeiro to maneuver through the defense. Armindo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Nasir Nesefi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as VB-Team's Traian Hăvârneanu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Józef Mlynarczyk. That made the score 1-2 after 76 minutes of play. After 78 played minutes Deportivo Pucho got a freekick which was hit by Östen Stor. Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Tolino in the 80th minute of play. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Tolino, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Ahmet Nasir Nesefi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armindo Salgado was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 89 minutes into the match, Gervásio Severiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Józef Mlynarczyk. Deportivo Pucho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gervásio Severiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The VB-Team supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing VB-Team would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
