Vicenza's Amos Colagrossi got control of the ball when Gilles Clerc tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vicenza's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Albain Furst ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Albain Furst got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Amos Colagrossi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Amos Colagrossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Herz in the 16th minute of play. Sepp Mainville made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristides Nel in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paşa Palla in the 22nd minute of play forced Zelg FC's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Herz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Amos Colagrossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Zelg FC booed when L.R. Vicenza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Costantino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amos Colagrossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Herz, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute Aristides Nel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sepp Mainville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olov Holmberg in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sepp Mainville saved Zelg FC from getting behind. Albain Furst charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albain Furst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th match minute, Zelg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albain Furst to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonas Herz to make the kick off. Paşa Palla might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sepp Mainville. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 84th minute, Paşa Palla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Zelg FC's zone, Aristides Nel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sepp Mainville came out of the goal and Aristides Nel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from Eraldo Olivieri in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Zelg FC's Jan Giacomozzi. Amos Colagrossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Herz, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. L.R. Vicenza's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
