Amos Colagrossi came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Szombathely Squirrels's Tivadar Demeter. But to his dismay, Tivadar Demeter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 10 played minutes L.R. Vicenza got a freekick which was hit by Eraldo Olivieri. Tivadar Demeter might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amos Colagrossi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tivadar Demeter ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 12th minute Tivadar Demeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amos Colagrossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olov Holmberg got free with Arnold Szuper in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19thth minute of the game Olov Holmberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Szombathely Squirrels's Arnold Szuper was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amos Colagrossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 20th minute of play. Amos Colagrossi came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Szombathely Squirrels's Tivadar Demeter. But to his dismay, Tivadar Demeter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paşa Palla in the 24th minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Arnold Szuper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Arnold Szuper managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when L.R. Vicenza's Olov Holmberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tivadar Demeter in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amos Colagrossi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 33 minutes into the game, Tivadar Demeter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Amos Colagrossi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. L.R. Vicenza's Amos Colagrossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tivadar Demeter in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Tivadar Demeter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Tivadar Demeter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amos Colagrossi. L.R. Vicenza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tivadar Demeter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Arnold Szuper made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Paşa Palla sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Tivadar Demeter sped through L.R. Vicenza's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Amos Colagrossi. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Szombathely Squirrels made a substitution. Lei Jian Xiong replaced Tivadar Demeter. Szombathely Squirrels's attentive József Varga managed to snatch the ball when Eraldo Olivieri made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. Amos Colagrossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lei Jian Xiong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Szombathely Squirrels were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after L.R. Vicenza's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luciano Aued took the corner. With a little luck, L.R. Vicenza's Amos Colagrossi got control of the ball when Lei Jian Xiong tried to sneak it across the goal line. Szombathely Squirrels's Arnold Szuper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesare Boldrini in the 86th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Szombathely Squirrels's Lei Jian Xiong dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6.
