But to his dismay, Jonny Strand quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. APOEL Nicosia's 王升帆 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Löfkvist in the 39th minute of play. 王升帆 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny Strand in the 40th minute of play. Oscar Löfkvist scored 0-7 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 王升帆, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonny Strand stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. APOEL Nicosia's 王升帆 proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save APOEL Nicosia from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Oscar Löfkvist took a quick shot and it went in 1-12 without a chance for 王升帆 to make any attempt to save it. 楚响亦 kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. 王升帆 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gösta Apelkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
