In the 25th minute Juan Rubio suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 26 minutes into the game, Tosh Moon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Titanic of Belfast's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. Costa Rica's Alex Casaus was substituted for Juan Rubio. Billy Clayton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Awa Pradnyana's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Billy Clayton succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 37th playminute. Costa Rica were furious when Alex Casaus was red carded, 41 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 47th minute Awa Pradnyana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseo Noboa to make the kick off. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Awa Pradnyana in the 82nd minute of the match. When Titanic of Belfast's Awa Pradnyana in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Awa Pradnyana in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Tosh Moon made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 90 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Awa Pradnyana came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
