Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Thiago Gol took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jordy Dirks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Thiago Gol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Gol received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Thiago Gol slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jordy Dirks in the 20th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Thiago Gol reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 3-0. When Thiago Gol came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the SCs StarS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thiago Gol couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Puig charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lautaro Puig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Jordy Dirks managed to get in a good position for a shot. SCs StarS's supporters rose to their feet, but Jordy Dirks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Thiago Gol might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thiago Gol ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thiago Gol got free with Benito Sanz in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thiago Gol had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Thiago Gol scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Thiago Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute of the match SCs StarS got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florian Hekman ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Abel Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Abel Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SCs StarS booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. If Thiago Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 58 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Gol came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The SCs StarS fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when SCs StarS's Thiago Gol looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thiago Gol scored 7-0 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Gol in the 66th minute of play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordy Dirks in the 67th minute of the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Gol scored 8-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 73 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Jordy Dirks came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SCs StarS were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Florian Hekman took the corner. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jordy Dirks in the 77th minute of play. If Thiago Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86thth minute of the game Thiago Gol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thiago Gol went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 11-0 was the resulting score. After 91 minutes of play, SCs StarS's Thiago Gol made it 12-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Costa Rica booed when SCs StarS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wlodzimierz Kochanowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 96 minutes of play Costa Rica's Abel Carballo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 97th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that SCs StarS were the better team. SCs StarS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
