In the 30th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandão Rodrigues, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernandão Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adan Taurino in the 42nd minute of the match. Fernandão Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Fernandão Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of the match. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 56 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Daniel Zorita. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandão Rodrigues having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when 曾明浩 came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Fernandão Rodrigues made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 曾明浩 in the 70th minute of play. After 71 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adan Taurino who took care of the corner kick. Adan Taurino made a great header on Buitros's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 84th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fernandão Rodrigues. Fernandão Rodrigues yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The Buitros fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
