Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Jairo Modestio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Jairo Modestio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Asier San made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asier San saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Asier San saved La Larrieneta from getting behind. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Marino Argüelles hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in action when he in the 29th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Asier San came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Modestio in the 35th minute of play. Asier San showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jairo Modestio to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 56th minute. With a little luck, La Larrieneta's Asier San got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, La Larrieneta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marino Argüelles to maneuver through the defense. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 75 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Sancho. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Asier San in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 82nd minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 89th minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Asier San tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than La Larrieneta.
