An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Blanchaert in the 8th minute of play forced AEK S.C's goalkeeper Miltos Kyriazis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AEK S.C's Miltos Kyriazis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Saba in the 10th minute of play. When Average Joes's Per Rolandsson in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AEK S.C's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of AEK S.C booed when Average Joes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yavuz Bülent Özger didn't get a good kick on the ball. AEK S.C's Miltos Kyriazis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Rolandsson in the 17th minute of play. Per Rolandsson scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miltos Kyriazis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 29 played minutes AEK S.C got a freekick which was hit by Omiros Argyriou. Matthias Liljeström struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Miltos Kyriazis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Average Joes. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Per Rolandsson put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Miltos Kyriazis. 37 minutes into the match, AEK S.C's goal looked a bit too open when Jo Blanchaert came free, but Miltos Kyriazis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Jo Blanchaert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Miltos Kyriazis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Miltos Kyriazis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jo Blanchaert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, AEK S.C's Giotis Papagiannis got a free kick in the 46th minute. Per Rolandsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Per Rolandsson was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur Saba got free with Miltos Kyriazis in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miltos Kyriazis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Rolandsson in the 54th minute of play. Miltos Kyriazis made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Jo Blanchaert sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Per Rolandsson put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Miltos Kyriazis. Miltos Kyriazis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per Rolandsson in the 60th minute of the match. AEK S.C's Miltos Kyriazis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Rolandsson in the 62nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur Saba got free with Miltos Kyriazis in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miltos Kyriazis was a little too slow when Mattias Finnman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 0-5. Average Joes's Per Rolandsson got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Yavuz Bülent Özger came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Average Joes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yavuz Bülent Özger couldn't finish the play. Miltos Kyriazis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mattias Finnman in the 78th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Average Joes's Mattias Finnman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Miltos Kyriazis. That made the score 0-6 after 79 minutes of play. In the 85th minute, Average Joes's Mattias Finnman ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Miltos Kyriazis. Miltos Kyriazis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Arthur Saba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the game, Mattias Finnman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Miltos Kyriazis. Mattias Finnman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. Average Joes's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
