The ball went over the crossbar instead. 4 minutes into the match, Highway to Hell's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Ihazintu came free, but Panos Papadimos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Habib Al Zamel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Caatiba MZC fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Niceto Ihazintu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 18th minute of play forced Highway to Hell's goalkeeper Panos Papadimos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Niceto Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Highway to Hell's Panos Papadimos got control of the ball when Niceto Ihazintu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ergo Muro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fragiskos Koboropoulos in the 25th minute of play. Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, Niceto Ihazintu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Panos Papadimos, 2-0. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Panos Papadimos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Panos Papadimos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Henrique, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Habib Al Zamel in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ergo Muro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Panos Papadimos was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Niceto Ihazintu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Niceto Ihazintu really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niceto Ihazintu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorge Henrique took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Panos Papadimos. Panos Papadimos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Panos Papadimos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niceto Ihazintu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the game, Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Panos Papadimos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. If Niceto Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Habib Al Zamel got free with Ergo Muro in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Niceto Ihazintu came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Caatiba MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niceto Ihazintu couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute, Loukas Zografakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panos Papadimos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Henrique, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Highway to Hell's Panos Papadimos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 81st minute of play. In the 81st minute Niceto Ihazintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Panos Papadimos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Caatiba MZC booed when Highway to Hell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sultan Shalan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niceto Ihazintu struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Panos Papadimos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caatiba MZC.
