De Ontembare Leeuwen's Jan Sibon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Bărăian in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of FC Fanaticii booed when De Ontembare Leeuwen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathan Haken didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in De Ontembare Leeuwen's zone, Mugurel Bărăian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Giurcă came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by De Ontembare Leeuwen's Rein Uebels. But to his dismay, Rein Uebels quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robert Răducu was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, De Ontembare Leeuwen's goal looked a bit too open when Șerban Nanu came free, but Jan Sibon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Sibon was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Șerban Nanu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Șerban Nanu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. When Marius Măgură fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Fanaticii's protests and gave Marius Măgură a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th minute Rinus Ronde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Giurcă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Giurcă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Koos Staal, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Robert Răducu could shoot a difficult shot in the 93rd minute, which Jan Sibon however easily saved by the left post. 97 minutes into the game, De Ontembare Leeuwen's Koos Staal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emanuel Giurcă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2.
