In the 3rd minute, Jeronimo Rico ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Allan Varela was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 6th minute Jeronimo Rico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeronimo Rico, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeronimo Rico in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Allan Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When America Futebol Clube SP's Jeronimo Rico in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palestra do Interior's goalie prevented a goal. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palestra do Interior's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Capixaba was slow to take the kick. During this time America Futebol Clube SP's players had a chance to rest. Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serginho Chulapa in the 23rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Paulo Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefan Rasiak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Percival Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Boyisana Mnisi kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Stefan Rasiak was a little too slow when Paulo Godoi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-2. Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serginho Chulapa in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeronimo Rico was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Paulo Godoi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stefan Rasiak. America Futebol Clube SP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Godoi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iago Bala, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago was substituted for Paulo Godoi. In the 78th minute of the match America Futebol Clube SP got a corner. Palestra do Interior's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Capixaba ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iago Bala got free with Allan Varela in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Vitório Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 90th minute America Futebol Clube SP were awarded a corner. Carlos Capixaba went to the cornerflag to take it. America Futebol Clube SP's Oton Mendez was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Allan Varela in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 95 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stefan Rasiak was left in no man's land by his defense there! Palestra do Interior's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
