The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Michel Dauwe fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Winksele 2016's protests and gave Michel Dauwe a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Winksele 2016 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Dauwe didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eustaquio Jaizki in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Floris Milters saved Winksele 2016 from getting behind. In the 12th match minute, Winksele 2016 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thibaud Segers to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th match minute, Winksele 2016 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egil Jakobsson to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Rojelio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Floris Milters. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eustaquio Jaizki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egil Jakobsson in the 36th minute of play. Carlos Germano came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Winksele 2016's Egil Jakobsson. But to his dismay, Egil Jakobsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thibaud Segers hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Club Atlético Atlanta's Pedro Rojelio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Egil Jakobsson was the one to do the kick off. Fulvio Corelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Carlos Germano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Egil Jakobsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Winksele 2016's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético Atlanta the free kick. In the 60th match minute, Winksele 2016 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egil Jakobsson to maneuver through the defense. Fabricio Burutzagi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Carlos Germano made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustaquio Jaizki in the 72nd minute of play forced Winksele 2016's goalkeeper Floris Milters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Winksele 2016 booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Rojelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute Eustaquio Jaizki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Floris Milters saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Pedro Rojelio heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Rosendo Cutberto was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 84 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, one of Club Atlético Atlanta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club Atlético Atlanta. The goalkeeper, Carlos Germano, was totally fooled by Winksele 2016's Thibaud Segers, who 86 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
