Comunardo Cianci received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. After some careless play in the Skarpa Ełk defense, Gabríel Vassaras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ken Kot. The Skarpa Ełk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ken Kot should have stopped the shot. 44 minutes into the match, Skarpa Ełk's goalkeeper Ken Kot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabríel Vassaras. 45 minutes into the match, Vc Brye's goal looked a bit too open when Jakub Dembowski came free, but Henri-Patrick De Mare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
