Jaime Pardo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yanaki Peychinov kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Alan Campos kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Hector Covarrubias might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trendafil Margin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Covarrubias ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg Jacobo Nores managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Great Bulgaria's Evtim Kalúpchiev fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Great Bulgaria defense, Jaime Pardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trendafil Margin. The Great Bulgaria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trendafil Margin should have stopped the shot. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them. Trendafil Margin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Pardo went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Great Bulgaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deyan Makazchiev didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Great Bulgaria's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trendafil Margin came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Evtim Kalúpchiev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Pardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Emil Marinchev threw the ball into play from the sideline. Paraguay's Ivan Prats quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evtim Kalúpchiev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Evtim Kalúpchiev who took care of the corner kick. Great Bulgaria's Evtim Kalúpchiev was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jacobo Nores in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marko Dzhorinski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Nores didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Great Bulgaria's Evtim Kalúpchiev shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evtim Kalúpchiev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evtim Kalúpchiev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Hector Covarrubias dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Trendafil Margin, 1-3. Primitivo Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Hector Covarrubias struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Trendafil Margin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. In the 87th minute, Jaime Pardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trendafil Margin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. When the final whistle sounded Paraguay left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Great Bulgaria.
